Two bearings
The only rope in this family to publish a pair.
One bearing supports the cable at a single point and the cable cantilevers out
from it. Two support it at both ends of the handle, which keeps the axis true
at speed — and speed is what this format exists for.
Two ropes on this shelf name a single ball bearing. Two publish none at all, and one names no bearing while stating that its handles turn.
Steel inside TPU
This is the fast configuration, and the trade-off is worth stating plainly.
A thin steel cable is heavy for its diameter and cuts through the air. It turns
faster than the arms can swing, which is what makes a double-under possible.
It also whips. A missed rep lands across the shins at the same speed, and when
the coating eventually wears through on concrete, what is exposed is wire.
The PORTENTUM at the other end of this shelf is built with no metal at all,
deliberately, and it is the same shelf.
The spare rope
Nobody else includes one.
The cable is the consumable — it abrades against the floor every revolution,
and when the coating splits the rope is finished while the handles are barely
used.
A spare in the box doubles the life of the purchase and is the most practical
thing in this listing.
The screwdriver
The adjustment, and it is the least convenient of the five methods published
on this shelf.
Scissors are permanent — a cut does not come back. A loop through a buckle is
reversible and needs nothing; so is a snap-lock. This needs a screwdriver,
which means the rope is set once and rarely reset.
